The past month or so...in a nutshell...

Slacker of blogging is my middle name. I kinda got caught up in life and all of it's craziness. So here is a refresher of what has been happening here in the Richards household, in the past month or so....

BABY UPDATE-

We found out that we are having a little girl. Her name is Karley Mae. Her ETA is January 17, 2010. Our family is excited, to say the least! Myah and Hayd are super stoked about being older siblings! I can't wait to meet this sweet little blessing!!

LaGoOn
Over Labor Day weekend, Jason and I took the kids to Lagoon. Myah and Hayden had soo much fun. I wish that I could say the same! You know that you are old when you'd almost rather go have dental work done, than be stuck at Lagoon for 8 hours! Jason's niece Kelly was a life saver and hung out with us, to help take the Myah and Hayd on some rides. A major shout out to Kell! THANK YOU!!

This summer we have gone up A LOT to my mom's to hang out. We always have such a great time hanging out with everyone! I am so glad that we live as close as we do....

The Rodeo......

So last week at the Davis County Fair, there was a rodeo. Jas and I thought that it would be a blast for the kids. Myah thought it was great. Hayden on the other hand was not thrilled, to say the least! Oh my, it was seriously the longest 2 hours of my LIFE( Besides our Disney On Ice experience)!! I am thinking that the outing to the rodeo, will probably be the last event that our family, will attend with Hayd for a really long time!! But here are some highlights of the ever so splendid evening.....

Cause we're the best of friends....

Heidi, my bestest of best friends, came to visit Utah last week. I was so stoked that we could get together while she was in town, because she only gets away from California once a year. Heidi and I have been friends for over 22 years!! When we get together all we do is laugh-Hysterically!! I am so thankful that I have been able to maintain a friendship with her for so many years. One thing that you learn really fast when you "grow up" is that great, true friends are very far and few! But she is more like a sister to me- A sista from another mister, is what we like to say. HaYdEn'S 3 rd BiRtHdAy and then some......

So more or less I have been a slacker with this blog lately... Some really cool things have happened recently, like Hayden turning 3 years old!! I can't believe how fast my little man is growing! It seems just like yesterday that I got to meet, hold and see his sweet little face, for the first time! Words cannot express, how incredibly blessed and grateful I am, to be Hayden's mommy! He literally is my whole world and then some(so is his sister Myah)!! Not to sound cliche, but time really does fly by when you are having fun. Here are some pictures, of the many birthday celebrations that our families had for him......

It was sooo awesome to have our whole family (minus Grandpa Kirby who was on-call) together!!

In Remembrance......

Eight years ago today, my family lost such an amazing man- My Grandpa Swift. Shelley was a man with such a great heart and sense of humor. He was one of the most brilliant, loving, understanding and compassionate men that I have ever had the opportunity to know and love. I have so many wonderful memories of him. Like going to his farm to pick cherries and peaches, riding on his tractor, going for rides in his most awesome convertible Cadillac, going out for Mexican and Chinese food, listening to stories of his life, Crossword Puzzles, Sweep-stakes,Jeopardy and the Golden Girls, watching him cook and making sandwiches with 1000 island dressing instead of mayo, watching him tend to his beautiful yard and gardens, eating spaghettios for breakfast when I would sleep over, sneaking into his office with my cousin Nancy to steal gummy worms, Easter Egg hunts and the awesome Pink Acid washed Denim Jacket, that he and my Grandma gave me for Christmas when I was 7. I literally could keep going on and on and on! The most important thing about my Grandpa Swift was that he loved and accepted me for who I am. Truly, I am blessed to have had him for my only Grandpa!! Still after 8 years my heartaches, that I no longer have him in my life. But I know that he is in Heaven, no longer sick and suffering, watching out for my family and I. So I am writing this post to express my love and gratitude that will always have for my Grandpa. I love you Grandpa. I miss you! There isn't a day that goes, by when I don't think of you!!

Antelope Island....

Saturday our family took a trip out to Antelope Island. Jason and I hadn't been out there since we were little kids. It was super hot, but really cool to show Myah and Hayd the Buffalo, Antelope and the farm that is out there. We even got to pet some horses that live there. I would have taken tons more pictures, but the battery died in the camera.
